April and Robert have a lot of heart. I witnessed this over and over again on their wedding day. When April told me the meaning behind her “something blue” my girl crush grew even more! These are her words:
“In October 2014 my cousin and his wife lost their little boy Landon, he was 3 years old when he passed suddenly. His favorite thing in the whole wide world was spiderman, everything he owned was spiderman. At his funeral everything was red and blue. They had a large flower and spiderman display and I asked if I could use one of the blue roses to put in my bouquet to represent Landon, and be my something blue”.
Just before the ceremony the sky turned really dark but thankfully the rain did hold off long enough for them to have their outdoor wedding at Terrae Pines Golf and Country Club in St. Albert.
These two have a little girl of their own and she was part of the proposal when Robert asked April to marry him. It was also very important for the two of them to include her on their wedding day so they brought her up during their vows and read a poem about love and how it isn’t complete without family. All these two wanted on their big day was to have people around that loved and supported them.
After the ceremony we headed downtown with the wedding party to take some photographs at the Art Gallery of Alberta. I loved the combination of the grey contemporary wall with the blush and navy attire the wedding party wore.
This day was full of love and happiness and lots of belly laughs. Thank you April and Robert for having me 🙂
Thank you to Chelsey for second shooting with me…lots of love.
